One mechanic, not a bundle of settings: you choose the channels, and your child's app never loads anything else. Everything on this page follows from that one decision.
Add the channels you already trust -- the ones you've actually watched with your kid. That list is the entire catalogue your child's app can play from. There's no related-video rail pulling toward one more autoplay, no search bar to type a different channel's name into, and no channel showing up that your child hasn't seen you add yourself. If it isn't on your list, it was never invited in, and there's nothing your child can do inside the app to reach it anyway.
There's no algorithm inside ChannelKeep tuned to keep your child watching -- nothing deciding what plays next, because your list already decided that. And Shorts, the endless vertical feed built for exactly the opposite of sitting down with one channel you chose, isn't in the app at all. Nothing here is trying to extend the session.
The channel list lives on our servers, not on the tablet. Add a channel or remove one from the parent app, and the change reaches your child's device on its own -- you never have to find the tablet, unlock it, or hand it back with the settings already changed.
Set how long the app can be used and which hours it's allowed at all, per device. This isn't the reason to switch to ChannelKeep -- iOS Screen Time and YouTube Kids' own timer already do this well, for free. ChannelKeep includes it too, so it's one fewer app to juggle, not a headline feature.
A link to a YouTube video from outside the app -- a text message, a shared playlist, a QR code on a party favor bag -- doesn't just open. A PIN screen steps in first, so whether it plays at all is your call, not a tap your child made without you.
